About Amber Home of Colour

Amber Home of Colour was inspired by 4 lovely years when our family lived in India. Every morning in our apartment complex, we saw ladies out and about power walking for fitness wearing beautiful coloured saris. The vibrancy of colour and energy on both sides of the road was wonderful to see. In the gardens, there was a selection of colourful flowers that grew all year round including bird of paradise trees, frangipanis and jasmine. The lights of Diwali decorated the gardens each year and the coloured powder thrown at Holi made Indian living a beautiful experience. As well as the name of our community, Amber was also the name of a beautiful stray ginger cat who adopted us and added colour, light and joy to our house; just as Amber Home of Colour aims to do for you.

We decorated our own flat interior with colourful soft furnishings and accessories and we often received compliments from visiting neighbours and friends. In a light bulb moment, we decided to set up our own business based in the UK to share some of this colourful living.

So drop by our shop in Marine Crescent, Seaton, Devon (map below!) where you can see the products for yourself or you can order from our website directly. (Don’t forget to check out the Personal Accessories section for some treats for the home owner too!) We think you will find the items for sale visually inspiring and we hope that you enjoy adding colour to your lives. Have fun choosing!

About our Products

Our products are carefully selected from wholesalers who deal with a variety of producers in Asian countries. They promise to ensure that items are traded fairly and producers are given a fair wage for their goods which is equal between men and women. This benefits the whole community thus improving the quality of life in these regions. Most of the producers work on a small scale using natural materials and traditional techniques. Some of the larger enterprises who employ people to produce our goods also support local schools and orphanages. Our wholesalers invest time and money in visiting the suppliers regularly to maintain good communication and relations.

Our jewellery range is sustainably sourced from New Zealand using Paua Shell . Abalone is a culinary delicacy and the shell is discarded so the company buys the shells and makes them into our superb jewellery using the skills and talents of local people.
